Colbridge & Company provides consulting and training services in strategic planning, sustainable business, and green supply chain design
and optimization to corporations and nonprofit organizations. The firm also designs, plans, and presents conferences around sustainable business themes.
Consulting Services
Colbridge engages with companies to modernize their
strategic and tactical business processes in support of
growth and expanded mission focus. It works with its
clients to improve the quality of their operations
through a combination of revitalized business processes
and more creative application of modern computer tools
for information management and sharing, and
decision support.
Colbridge also works with companies who are interested
in lightening the environmental footprint of their
operations but are not sure how to go about it.
Colbridge brings a unique set of skills to these
clients, blending many years of experience in delivering
state-of-the-art supply chain optimization solutions to
numerous companies across many industries with a broad
knowledge of the latest tools and techniques for making
companies simultaneously profitable and environmentally
sustainable.
Training Offerings
Colbridge offers a variety of tutorial and classroom
based training offerings related to supply chain design
and environmentally sustainable operations. Examples are:

These offerings can be tailored in terms of industry

Retreat and Conference Design
Colbridge & Company organizes retreats and conferences around sustainable business themes. For example, the firm recently designed, planned, and presented a retreat which focused on opportunities through which business can be profitable and environmentally sustainable simultaneously. This April 2003 retreat, held on the central California coast, was cosponsored by the San Francisco based Future 500 and the Basking Ridge, NJ based
Collins Family Foundation. Proceedings of the retreat can be found at
www.future500.org/documents/ie2003-retreat.pdf. More recently, Colbridge and Company partnered with others in the design, planning, and presentation of a benchmark September 2004 Seattle based conference on
Profitable Sustainability. This conference
was cosponsored by the Seattle based
Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability,

the Collins Family Foundation. The

About Us
Dwight Collins, Ph.D., is founder and president of Colbridge & Company. He also teaches Sustainable Operations Management at the
San Francisco based
Presidio School of Management.
Prior to founding Colbridge, Dwight directed Aspen
Technology’s Strategic Planning Practice, which provided
strategic planning optimization consulting services to
senior executives. Common goals included planning
acquisitions, divestitures, post-merger capacity
rationalization, production consolidation, and
distribution network redesign. Clients included BP
Chemicals, NOVA Chemicals, Borden Chemicals, and Abbott
Laboratories. Prior to this, Dwight founded a
Semiconductor Industry Practice at Chesapeake Decision
Sciences through which he was instrumental in devising
strategic enterprise planning and customer order
promising systems for several semiconductor companies
including IBM Microelectronics, LSI Logic and Cypress
Semiconductor. In this time frame, Dwight also
implemented supply chain optimization capabilities for
Shaw Industries, the largest carpet producer in the US,
and chemical company Rohm & Haas.
Earlier in his career, Dwight worked as a Senior
Operations Analyst at Exxon Corporation, a Senior
Consultant at the Logistics Management Institute (LMI)
(a Washington, D.C. think tank) , and as Captain in the
US Air Force. Dr. Collins earned a BS degree in
Engineering Physics, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in
Operations Research, all from Cornell University.
